Introduction
I know through my own experience of therapy how difficult it can be to take that first step into counselling and how daunting it can be making that connection with a therapist that you can trust and who can enable you to work through the issues that are preventing you living your life to your full potential.
Counselling enabled me to become a fully functioning person, it helped me to understand my thoughts and feelings with a better clarity a better understanding of why I felt and acted the way I do. I am more able to question negative thoughts and feelings now and have gained an acceptance of me being good enough just as I am.
I have always had empathy and compassion for others from an early age as well as an interest in Psychology, so after many years of working with vulnerable people I decided to take the plunge and change my career to become a counsellor. In this role I could combine my compassion and empathy for people with a professional underpinning of a Therapeutic Counselling degree. I walked away from Leeds Beckett University with a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in 2019 after many years of study. Within that time, I set up Counselling with Sally my private practice.
